Nice site.
Love the "neither sheep nor wolf" phrase. I have been thinking of it for a day or two and googled to find a source - which is how I got to your site.
I'm sure it's a quotation.
If you have any ideas, I'd be very grateful if you could let me know.
Indeed, I've heard "neither sheep nor wolf" many times in many contexts - I also believe the phrase is a quote. I don't actually know its origin, though...
I have searched for something that looks like an original statement (that contains the phrase), but have had no success myself.
