I was the Jester of the Blues last Tuesday, March 28!
There were several of us competing for the evening's winning spot (including my son, Kennon and cheered on by our most wonderful supporter Laura). There were a few really good players there that evening and won accordingly... there were a few newbies that played REALLY well. Kennon played the best I've ever seen him play! It was probably the most fun I'd had with a guitar in hand in a very long time.
Once I got on the stage, I wasn't prepared for the feeling of standing in front of stacks of huge amps and speakers (been practicing with a VOX AD30 for a long time)... I then forgot where I was and got rubber knees. Oh well... I just had to jam a bit in the correct key until I could figure out a way to get back to my prepared tune... It went OK, but I had played so much better the night before at home on Brother's Blondie (the Tele).
I can't wait until next year!

It was really fun even though I didn't perform. Kennon did really great, and so did you! Heard lots of comments pointed in both ways.
What I meant on the last sentence was that the both ways, the comments were to both people. Not as in negative and positive.
I'm glad the Bear Boyz enjoyed themselves and had a good showing. I wish I could have been there! I can't imagine playing in front of real people (as opposed to the imaginary people that I currently play air guitar for). Rock on, my peeps!
