A little background, first if you please
I don't want to talk too much about me, but I thought a small amount of background would be appropriate.
I'm a senior Java software engineer, with a great deal of experience with enterprise application and system development, as well as computer hardware and networking experience in large- and small-scale deployments.
I am a classically trained musician and music educator. I have a moderate amount of experience in semi-professional situations.
I received my first guitar when I was 12 and my first 12-string at the age of 13. The first guitar is a Yamaha G-55A classical, and the 12-string was an Alvarez with a nice spruce top. My third guitar was an Epiphone Les Paul - black with two humbuckers and lots of nice binding and detail.
As a matter of fact, I still have my Yamaha, some 32 years later. I just cleaned it up, set it up, and I have restrung it with a nice set of Ernie Ball Ernesto Palla Clear & Silver Nylons. That guitar sounds so wonderful and aged - much better than many multi-thousand dollar guitars I've played. Such a nice, deep timbre with a truly mellow tone...
More later! I've got a few guitar and gear reviews that I've been itching to write. See you soon!
